So here i sit, downstairs in my wonderfully woody host family's house...cookies in the oven, coffee pot set on a timer, we are definitely being spoiled...well after spending almost 24hrs in the bus driving from Flagstaff to Oklahoma City- i couldn't ask for anything else.
Flagstaff Farmer's Market summarized in a Haiku:
Kids drum, art galore
Families smile...fun is fun
teach, laugh, sing, dance, dream
So tomorrow we are set to run a series of workshops at Camp Chaverim here in Oklahoma city-my host "mom" is the program director at the summer camp and I am getiing pumped to see how much oil we get to pump :) Workshops will include the "States of Change" art quilt, a diverting waste- What is Trash- workshop where kids will compete to properly separate a bag of waste into compost, trash, and recycling... oh and don't forget about the interactive "oil drive" where we will be teaching the kids about veggie power and solar energy--and they will pour some of their veggie oil brought from home (canola, soybean, olive, etc) right into our engine.
Well, I am pooped- time to rest my head on a real bed. Its only been 3 daze and has been so amazing so far- the encounters with strangers, the interviews, the unity of the Chillaroo Crew, the weird stares we get on the road...and now that Yakov/Jake is on the bus- who knows what could happen...only time will tell...
till then... the felixmeister
